Plasma concentrations of clonazepam after single rectal administration.
Clonazepam was administered rectally to six children aged 1.4 to 4.7 years in a dose of 0.05 mg/kg and to five children aged 1.4 to 4.1 years in a dose of 0.1 mg/kg. Plasma concentrations indicate that it is rapidly absorbed, and it may therefore be an alternative to rectal administration of diazepam in continuing convulsions.
متن کاملPlasma concentrations of lignocaine during fibreoptic bronchoscopy.
Peak plasma concentrations of lignocaine were recorded in 41 patients receiving topically applied lignocaine for fiberoptic bronchoscopy. Adequate anaesthesia was achieved in all patients with an average dose per unit weight of 9.3 +/- 0.5 mg/kg (SEM) giving a mean peak plasma concentration of 2.9 +/- 0.5 mg/l-1 (SEM) (+/- SEM 0.5). The plasma concentration exceeded toxic levels of 5.0 mg/l-1 i...
متن کاملInfluence of premedication on lignocaine-induced acute toxicity and plasma concentrations of lignocaine.
The effects were studied, in eight healthy volunteers, of premedication with diazepam 0.14 mg kg-1 by mouth or hyoscine 6 micrograms kg-1 + morphine 0.2 mg kg-1 i.m., or no premedication, on toxic symptoms and plasma concentrations after rapid i.v. injection of lignocaine 1 mg kg-1. The alpha 1-acid glycoprotein (AAG) and albumin plasma protein fractions were assessed. A variety of mild central...
متن کاملPlasma fibrinogen concentrations after intravenous administration of fibrinopeptides to rats.
Kropatkin & Izak (1968) demonstrated a twofold increase in plasma fibrinogen concentrations in rabbits 24h after the intravenous administration of the soluble breakdown products liberated by the action of thrombin on rabbit fibrinogen. They suggested that the fibrinopeptides A and B released by thrombin might stimulate fibrinogen synthesis in the liver. These findings appeared to provide a poss...
متن کاملPlasma concentrations and clinical effects of lorazepam after oral administration.
The relation between plasma concentrations and properties of lorazepam administered orally as premedication was studied in patients undergoing minor surgery. The drug was found to be reliably absorbed in most subjects producing plasma concentrations similar to those reported after injection. Effective concentrations were obtained within 30-60 min, maintained for 4-6 h and were closely related t...
